S1/S8HS Wood Saws and Planer Thicknesser Refresher

This Nationally accredited practical course will provide:

• Teachers
• Technicians
• Support staff/Premises Staff 

In Design and Technology Departments ‘initial training’ on the Specialist Extension Level: S1HS Wood saws and S8HS Planer Thicknesser Machines

The course is suitable if you require a new certificate on this range of machines. This is not a refresher course for those who already have certificates or whose certificates have recently expired. The course consists of practical exercises during the day.  Machines covered will include:

• Circular saw
• Narrow band saw
• Radial Arm/Chop Saw 
• The Combined Planer Thicknesser

You will receive by email, a course pack covering current legislation and the knowledge, skills and understanding required to safely use this range of woodworking machinery in schools. If you have recently completed the D&TA ‘Core’ Elements Training, and have submitted your portfolio of evidence, you will be able to add this unit to your D&TA accreditation.
