DESCRIPTION:This Nationally accredited practical course will provide: \n\nTeachers\nTechnicians\nSupport staff/Premises Staff\n\nIn Design and Technology Departments ‘initial training’ on the Specialist Extension Level: S1HS WOOD SAWING MACHINES \nThe course is suitable if you require a new certificate on this range of machines. This is not a refresher course for those who already have certificates or whose certificates have recently expired. The course consists of practical exercises during the day. \nMachines covered will include: \n\nCircular saw\nNarrow band saw\nRadial Arm/Chop Saw\n\nIf you have recently completed the D&TA ‘Core’ Elements Trai and have submitted your portfolio of evidence for accreditation\, you will be able to add this unit to your D&TA accreditation. \nPlease note – Certification is valid for a period of 5 years.

DESCRIPTION:This Nationally accredited practical course will provide: \n\nTeachers\nTechnicians\nSupport staff/Premises Staff\n\nIn Design and Technology Departments ‘initial training’ on the Specialist Extension Level: S7HS Wood Turning Lathe \nDuring the day you will undertake a number of exercises\, including turning between centres and using faceplates and chucks. This course will familiarise teachers and technicians with the Design and Technology Association Specialist Extension Level Training Standards for the Wood Turning Lathe (S7HS) and prepare you to teach students how to turn safely. \nMachines to be used are Union Graduate and Axminster Jet wood turning lathes \nYou will receive by email\, a course pack covering current legislation and the knowledge\, skills and understanding required to safely use this range of woodworking machinery in schools. If you have recently completed the D&TA ‘Core’ Elements Training\, and have submitted your portfolio of evidence\, you will be able to add this unit to your D&TA accreditation. \nPlease note – Certification is valid for a period of 5 years.
