DESCRIPTION:This Nationally accredited practical course will provide: \n\nTeachers\nTechnicians\nSupport staff/Premises Staff\n\nIn Design and Technology Departments ‘initial training’ on the Specialist Extension Level: S7HS Wood Turning Lathe \nDuring the day you will undertake a number of exercises\, including turning between centres and using faceplates and chucks. This course will familiarise teachers and technicians with the Design and Technology Association Specialist Extension Level Training Standards for the Wood Turning Lathe (S7HS) and prepare you to teach students how to turn safely. \nMachines to be used are Union Graduate and Axminster Jet wood turning lathes

DESCRIPTION:This course will enable delegates to refresh their H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands \non’ approach. The course will cover the areas of S1HS and S8HS and will involve practical \nexperience in the use of a circular saw\, radial arm saw\, narrow band saw and combined \nplaner-thicknesser.  Delegates will receive a course pack covering current legislation and the \nknowledge\, skills and understanding required to safely use this range of woodworking \nmachinery in schools. \n  \nAll the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
