The course is suitable for both teachers and technicians\, working in all material areas of the subject. \nThe course will extend and update your knowledge and understanding of health and safety and will have a range of activities covering: \n\nCore standards\nEnvironmental issues\nRisk Assessment\nLegal issues surrounding delivery of Design & Technology\nLEV\, COSHH\, PAT\, Maintenance etc.\n\nPlease note: there is no machine training on this course.

DESCRIPTION:This Nationally accredited practical course will provide: \n\nTeachers\nTechnicians\nSupport staff/Premises Staff\n\nIn Design and Technology Departments ‘initial training’ on the Specialist Extension Level: S9HS Portable Power Tools \nDuring the day\, delegates will undertake a variety of practical exercises to prepare them to safely use a range of portable power tools at work. These include:  Angle grinder  Jigsaw  Portable circular Saws Radial Arm/Mitre saw  Biscuit jointer  Portable power plane and Routers \nIf you have recently completed the D&TA ‘Core’ Elements Training\, and have submitted your portfolio of evidence\, you will be able to add this unit to your D&TA accreditation. \nPlease note – Certification is valid for a period of 5 years.
