The activities will include: \n\n  H&S legislation\, documentation and responsibilities\n  Undertaking risk assessments and maintaining control measures\n  Providing effective support for the D&T curriculum\n  Understanding LEV system\n  Essential routine maintenance\n  Managing D&T resources\n  Managing the D&T environment\n\nThis is a workshop-based course and will offer technicians a choice from a range of essential practical skills that can be taught during the session. \nPlease note – Certification is valid for a period of 5 years.

These include:  Angle grinder  Jigsaw  Portable circular Saws Radial Arm/Mitre saw  Biscuit jointer  Portable power plane and Routers \nIf you have recently completed the D&TA ‘Core’ Elements Training\, and have submitted your portfolio of evidence\, you will be able to add this unit to your D&TA accreditation. \nPlease note – Certification is valid for a period of 5 years.

DESCRIPTION:This course will enable delegates to refresh their H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands \non’ approach. The course will cover the areas of S1HS and S8HS and will involve practical \nexperience in the use of a circular saw\, radial arm saw\, narrow band saw and combined \nplaner-thicknesser.  Delegates will receive a course pack covering current legislation and the \nknowledge\, skills and understanding required to safely use this range of woodworking \nmachinery in schools. \n  \nAll the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
